Art & Finance: The Restoration of Valinotto

For a delicate topic like philanthropy, which unites art and finance—placing the latter in service of the former—we chose the Sanctuary of Valinotto as our venue. This stunning 18th-century church was itself born of philanthropy, built through the generosity of banker Antonio Faccio for the local farmers and his estate. Its reopening to the public was made possible with the same philanthropic spirit, thanks to the support of the Compagnia di Sanpaolo, which contributed to the restoration.

Thanks to the kind cooperation of Architect Magnaghi, who oversaw the restoration, guests were able to closely admire the magnificent frescoes inside the sanctuary while the work was still underway.

The day continued with a guided visit to Castello Romagnano di Virle, a beautiful and little-known historic residence.
